A drama producer based between Glasgow and Devon, with the odd stint in London, Alysia’s recent producer credits include the Scottish Short BUNNY (w/d. Shaun Hughes), sci-fi drama PERFECT WORLDS (w/d. AJ Sykes) and GOING AWAY (w/d. Simon Price). She has produced and directed films for corporate clients and prior to that worked in the camera department as Loader, Focus Puller and Operator on features, dramas and commercials, including on PUFFBALL (d. Nicolas Roeg), LOW WINTER SUN (d. Adrian Shergold) and SPOOKS s.4 (d. Alrick Riley/Antonia Bird). She graduated from Glasgow University in 1999 with an MA (Hons) in Anthropology and Film & Television Studies and spent one year at Melbourne University, Australia studying Cinema Studies. She took a break from the industry to found the practical how-to and advice platform for women BookshelfBoyfriend.com and went on to manage and develop social enterprises in the cultural sector, before setting up a digital marketing agency in Devon. Her decision to return to the industry in 2015 was driven by a passion for good drama and the desire to facilitate more diversity on screen and behind the camera. She was a selected participant on the Glasgow Film Festival/Film City Futures Film Producer Accelerator 2016-17 programme; the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2017 Talent Lab; the SFTN Shorts 2 Features 2017-18 professional development scheme, with the feature project BUNNY; and recently participated on the WEP Films/JETS Lichter Festival 2018 International Pitching workshop in Frankfurt. She was also funded by the Scottish Film Talent Network to attend Toronto International Film Festival September 2017. In 2017 she founded Moquette Films and Junkyard Dog Films to focus on her growing slate of shorts, features and TV dramas.
